Pistons

​A piston engine, or reciprocating engine, is a type of heat engine that uses one or more reciprocating pistons to convert pressure into rotating mechanical motion. These engines typically operate in a cycle of intake, compression, combustion, and exhaust. The piston's back-and-forth movement is converted into a rotating motion by a crankshaft.​
